Saṅkalpa Literally means ‘a very strong willed effort’. To do any work it is necessary to have a Saṅkalpa. No work is completed unless you step forward to do it with the determination (Saṅkalpa) that I have to do this work because there is no alternative. Only then can you put your entire effort into completing that task honestly. As long as there are options, the person remains confused among those options. But when there is no option left, then the feeling which makes a task complete is called ‘Saṅkalpa’.
Saṅkalpa is considered very important in Sanatan Dharma. Before doing any chanting, penance, worship, Yajña, ritual etc., Brahmins take water in their hands and make us take a Saṅkalpa oath. The purpose for which the ritual is being performed is achieved only by taking a Saṅkalpa and performing that ritual. Because the Saṅkalpa with which the ritual is performed, the energy of that ritual is used in fulfilling that Saṅkalpa.
In the dham of Shri Karauli Shankar Mahadev, Saṅkalpa is the most important rule, without which, the rituals you perform, it’s energy does not give you any benefit. As soon as you Saṅkalpa to destroy any Smṛti due to which you are troubled or in pain, praying to Baba Ji & Gurumata Ji, that Smṛti is immediately destroyed and your Saṅkalpa is fulfilled. But this is possible only when you have enough energy, for which you are required to adopt one of the processes of Shri Karauli Shankar Mahadev Dham. Because the Saṅkalpa will be fulfilled when there is sufficient positive energy; positive energy will be sufficient when our ancestors present in the Preta Yoni (Phantom Realm) who steals away our virtues, attains Mukti (Liberation to their next birth-death cycle), and liberation of the ancestors is possible only when there is the presence of the Poorna Guru.
There are two types of Saṅkalpa in the dham:
- One you do by yourself.
- That which is presented to you by the Dham (live by Gurudev or through his audio-video clips).
- To make a Saṅkalpa, you have to sit in any comfortable posture with both eyes closed and both your hands placed on your thighs.
- Now first of all you have to pay obeisance to Lord Bholenath and Maa Kamakhya in your mind. Then one has to pay obeisance to the most revered Baba Ji and the most revered Gurumata Ji.
- Now you have to pray in your mind and say: – “Most Revered Baba Ji, Most Revered Gurumata Ji, I request you that the Smṛti due to which __________ (tell about the pain you are facing) is happening to me. Yes, please destroy all those Smṛti. I will be very thankful to you.”
- If you are having pain in your back but there is a pricking sensation in that pain, then you will Saṅkalpa that “Most Revered Baba Ji, Most Revered Gurumata Ji, I request you to please destroy the Smṛti due to which I am having pricking pain in the back. I will be very thankful to you.”)
- Keep in mind that any disease causes pain in the body according to its symptoms. Therefore, while making a Saṅkalpa to get rid of that disease, keep in mind that you will tell all the symptoms of that disease to rev. Babaji & Gurumata Ji and pray to destroy their Smṛti too.
- If there is TB (tuberculosis) disease in the lungs, then you will feel all the symptoms related to it like – cough, fever, sometimes bleeding from the mouth, bleeding from the mouth along with cough, excessive mucus production, Symptoms like bleeding, sudden rapid weight loss, weakness and fever in the body, stiffness/heaviness in the chest, pain in the chest etc. are included in your Saṅkalpa one by one. Tell Baba-Maa and pray that those Smṛti due to which this is happening or is happening, please destroy them forever. By doing this, your sufferings will get relief quickly.
- If there is any disease related to kidney, then along with that disease, its symptoms like – pain in the back, pain in the penis (below the navel), pain in the pelvis (below the navel) while urinating, burning sensation while urinating, Symptoms that you feel like bleeding in urine while urinating, urinating only with great force, less urination, no urination at all, less sweating or no sweating, etc. Tell them to Baba-Maa and pray to destroy their Smṛti that the Smṛti due to which this happens or is happening, please destroy those Smṛti forever. By doing this your sufferings will get relief quickly.)
- It takes time for the Saṅkalpa to start, so be patient.
- Take a glass of water and add two spoons of white sugar in it.
- You should keep Brahmin Dakṣiṇā close to the family.
- Do not cover your head and leave your hair braided.
- No boundations: Saṅkalpa can be taken even after meal or sitting on the floor/ on the chair.
- Keep your eyes closed while making a Saṅkalpa. Do not open your eyes in between.
- Out of the first 3 steps, whichever step you Saṅkalpa, you have to do it after listening to the instructions of Gurudev Ji and whatever Gurudev asks you to speak, you also have to speak. After the Saṅkalpa, you have to wait for the Saṅkalpa of the last step. .
- In the last phase of Saṅkalpa, you will get 5 minutes in which you have to Saṅkalpa to destroy the Smṛti of your troubles.
- If you forget your troubles then write it on a paper and in that 5 minutes time you can read it with your eyes open and then close your eyes.
- If you want to take a Saṅkalpa for someone included in your DNA, then you can also take it in the last step, for this you can take a Saṅkalpa by keeping the clothes worn by that person which have not been washed or his photo. Keep in mind that for this member also you have to prepare a glass of water and give Dakṣiṇā to the Brahmin.
- After the Saṅkalpa, you have to rotate the glass of water straight above the head 6 times and turn it upside down once and pour the water into the toilet. If you have made a Saṅkalpa by placing a member’s cloth or photo, then you have to rotate the glass of water over his cloth or photo in the same manner and pour water into the toilet and flush it.
- Keep aside your Brahmin Dakṣiṇā and when you come to the dham, put that Dakṣiṇā with your own hands in the Saṅkalpa Dakṣiṇā box.
